Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in managing multi-state payroll and experience using leading payroll systems.

Job Responsibility:

Process end-to-end payroll for employees across multiple states
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including overtime, garnishments, tax filings, and other payroll regulations
Maintain accurate payroll records and respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely, professional manner
Partner with HR and Finance teams to reconcile payroll data, address discrepancies, and support audits
Assist with system updates, process improvements, and payroll reporting as needed
Prepare and distribute payroll-related reports to management

Requirements:

A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in payroll processing, with a focus on multi-state operations
Proficiency in payroll software
experience with ADP Workforce Now is highly preferred
Solid understanding of payroll tax laws, compliance standards, and reporting requirements
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
Effective communication skills for interacting with employees and internal stakeholders
Experience managing payroll for large employee groups, preferably over 500 employees
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
