Payroll Specialist

• Process weekly payroll efficiently and accurately
• Investigate and resolve missed time entries and ensure timely adjustments
• Handle garnishment payments while ensuring compliance with legal requirements
• Oversee layoff payments, terminations, and special rates/adjustments
• Collaborate with the department Manager to review payroll discrepancies and resolve issues
• Assist with updates to payroll records, including direct deposit accounts and tax forms
• Coordinate with unions to request dispatches as required
• Work with department managers to verify data entered
• Manage E-Verify checks for new hires and re-hires and set up direct deposit accounts
• Calculate and report monthly union benefits with attention to deadlines

• Recent experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll-focused role
• Familiarity with union benefits and compliance requirements
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work within deadlines
• Proficiency in ERP & cloud-based systems
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or business-related field is preferred, not required
• Construction experience is a huge plus
