Payroll Specialist

• Process payroll for over 1,500 employees, ensuring timely and accurate completion
• Apply knowledge of payroll practices and HR policies to address wage calculations, deductions, garnishments, and off-cycle payments
• Investigate and resolve escalations related to payroll issues, providing exceptional customer service
• Audit payroll submissions for accuracy, compliance, and completeness, identifying discrepancies and correcting errors
• Lead and manage medium to complex projects focused on payroll and timekeeping processes
• Conduct training sessions for departmental representatives to improve understanding of payroll policies and procedures
• Propose and assist in the development of policies and procedures to enhance payroll operations and efficiency
• Collaborate with team members to achieve shared objectives and provide support where needed
• Research and analyze complex payroll matters, offering solutions based on comprehensive knowledge of regulations
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support payroll operations

• Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll experience, with expertise in multi-state payroll processing
• Comprehensive knowledge of payroll practices, regulations, and compliance at local, state, and federal levels
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• experience with advanced payroll systems is advantageous
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build effective relationships
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced environment

Preferred certifications include Fundamental Payroll Certification or a detail-oriented payroll designation
