We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a healthcare organization in New York, New York in a contract capacity with the potential for a long-term opportunity. This position is ideal for a payroll specialist who can manage complex, high-volume payroll operations with accuracy, discretion, and strong attention to deadlines. The role will support multi-state payroll processing and help ensure employees are paid correctly and on time while maintaining compliance with applicable payroll regulations.
Job Responsibility:
Process end-to-end payroll for a large employee population of more than 500 team members across multiple states
Review payroll data for accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely completion of each payroll cycle
Administer payroll activities using ADP Workforce Now and ADP Enterprise to maintain reliable employee and compensation records
Monitor payroll-related deductions, taxes, garnishments, and benefit withholdings to support compliant processing
Partner with HR, finance, and internal stakeholders to address payroll questions and research employee pay issues
Prepare payroll reports, reconcile payroll totals, and maintain documentation needed for audits and internal review
Support payroll updates, configuration changes, or process-related system activities as needed within the payroll environment
Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll requirements to help maintain compliance across jurisdictions
Requirements:
5+ years of payroll experience, including ownership of full-cycle payroll processing
Hands-on experience managing multi-state payroll in a high-volume environment
Proven background processing payroll for organizations with more than 500 employees
Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
Experience using ADP Enterprise in a payroll setting
Solid understanding of payroll taxes, wage regulations, and compliance requirements
High level of accuracy, organization, and ability to manage sensitive information confidentially
