We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Torrance, California on a Contract basis. This part-time, fully onsite assignment is expected to run for approximately 4 to 6 weeks and will support essential payroll and HR coordination activities for a busy workplace. The ideal candidate brings hands-on Paycom experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to keep payroll processes accurate, timely, and compliant.
Job Responsibility
Manage bi-weekly payroll processing for approximately 130 employees using Paycom, ensuring timely and accurate completion
Review payroll data carefully to support compliance with California wage and hour requirements for a non-union employee population
Maintain organized payroll files, records, and supporting documentation in line with internal standards and legal guidelines
Provide day-to-day HR administrative support, including updating employee information and assisting with onboarding and offboarding tasks
Respond to employee questions related to payroll and HR matters with professionalism and urgency
Work closely with managers and internal partners to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently
Requirements
Prior experience running payroll in Paycom is required
Demonstrated background in full-cycle payroll processing
Working knowledge of California payroll regulations and compliance standards
Ability to work onsite in Torrance, California with a flexible part-time schedule
Strong accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in payroll administration
Clear communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive employee information professionally
