We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support accurate and timely payroll operations for a high-volume, multi-state workforce in Golden Valley, Minnesota. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone who brings strong payroll expertise, careful attention to detail, and confidence working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end payroll activities, help maintain compliance with applicable regulations, and contribute to a dependable employee pay experience.
Job Responsibility
Process full-cycle payroll for a large employee population, ensuring pay is completed accurately and on schedule
Administer payroll for employees working across multiple states while applying the appropriate tax and wage rules
Use ADP Workforce Now to enter, review, and validate payroll data, deductions, and employee updates
Audit payroll records to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and maintain data integrity before final submission
Coordinate with HR, finance, and internal stakeholders to address payroll questions, status updates, and needed corrections
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including required filings and documentation
Support payroll reporting, reconciliation activities, and related recordkeeping for internal review and business needs
Assist with payroll process updates or system-related changes as needed while helping ensure continuity and accuracy in operations
Requirements
Managing full-cycle payroll from data review through final processing
Hands-on background handling payroll for employees in multiple states
Practical experience using ADP Workforce Now in a payroll environment
Ability to support payroll volumes exceeding 500 employees with a high level of accuracy
Strong knowledge of payroll practices, tax withholdings, deductions, and compliance requirements
High attention to detail with the ability to investigate and correct payroll discrepancies
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
