Process weekly, biweekly, or semimonthly payroll for employees across multiple states. Ensure accurate entry and validation of payroll data, including hours, earnings, deductions, bonuses, and adjustments. Support payroll processing for employees in California and other states, ensuring compliance with applicable wage and hour requirements. Review payroll reports for accuracy and reconcile discrepancies prior to processing. Research and resolve payroll issues related to pay, taxes, garnishments, benefits, and deductions. Maintain payroll records and employee data in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Assist with new hire, termination, and employee status change processing as it relates to payroll. Respond to employee and manager payroll questions in a timely and professional manner. Partner with HR, finance, and benefits teams to ensure accurate payroll inputs and reporting. Support payroll audits, reconciliations, and month-end reporting as needed. Identify process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements
2+ years of payroll processing experience
Experience handling multi-state payroll required
California payroll experience preferred
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with large data sets, formulas, and reconciliations
High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, garnishments, and deductions
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have
Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, UKG, Ceridian, or similar
Prior experience in a high-volume payroll environment
CPP designation is a plus
