The Payroll Specialist supports day-to-day payroll operations in a complex, multi-entity environment. This role is responsible for accurate bi-weekly payroll processing, system administration support, compliance-related activities, and collaboration with cross-functional payroll partners. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to ongoing payroll improvements and projects, with potential for longer-term growth.
Job Responsibility:
Process bi-weekly payroll with accuracy and timeliness
Support payroll systems as a processor and administrator
Assist with payroll audits, reporting, and compliance reviews
Research payroll, tax, and regulatory issues at the federal, state, and provincial levels
Partner with internal teams and vendors to resolve payroll and tax-related inquiries
Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and documentation
Support payroll projects, testing, and system or process changes
Provide backup support for payroll processing and assist with annual audits (e.g., retirement plans, workers’ comp)
Perform additional payroll-related tasks and projects as assigned
Requirements:
3-5 years of full-cycle payroll experience
Experience in high-volume, multi-state payroll environments
Exposure to Canadian payroll preferred
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively across teams and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
