We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Seattle, Washington. The ideal candidate will excel in managing payroll processes with precision and efficiency, ensuring compliance with multi-state regulations and union requirements. Job Responsibility:
Process and manage payroll operations for employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Reconcile payroll data with state taxes to maintain accurate records and resolve discrepancies
Handle union payroll requirements, including contract-specific calculations and reporting
Utilize PeopleSoft and other payroll systems to streamline payroll processing
Collaborate with internal teams to address payroll-related inquiries and provide timely resolutions
Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, adhering to federal, state, and local regulations
Leverage Microsoft Excel for detailed payroll analysis and reporting
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance
Generate and analyze payroll reports to support audits and financial reviews
Assist in improving payroll processes and implementing best practices
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, including multi-state operations
Proficiency in handling union payroll requirements and related calculations
Strong knowledge of payroll tax reconciliation and compliance
Experience working with PeopleSoft or similar payroll systems
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members
