Job Description

Our client in the technology industry is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll processing and related accounting functions. This role is ideal for a professional with strong payroll knowledge, excellent accuracy, and the ability to manage sensitive employee information in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule for hourly and salaried employees
  • Review timekeeping records and ensure payroll data is complete and accurate
  • Maintain payroll records, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings
  • Respond to employee questions related to payroll, pay statements, and deductions
  • Reconcile payroll reports and support general ledger entries related to payroll
  • Assist with payroll tax filings, year-end processing, and compliance reporting
  • Coordinate with human resources and accounting teams on employee changes and payroll updates
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
  • Identify and help implement process improvements to increase payroll efficiency

Requirements

  • 2+ years of payroll experience
  • Knowledge of payroll processes, tax withholdings, deductions, and wage laws
  • Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, Paychex, UKG, or similar platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Nice to have

  • Experience in the technology industry preferred
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred
