We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Williamsburg, Virginia. In this contract role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and efficient payroll processing for a diverse group of employees. This position requires a strong attention to detail and a thorough understanding of payroll systems, compliance regulations, and multi-state payroll practices.
Job Responsibility:
Process payroll for both hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Manage 401(k) contributions, deductions, garnishments, and related payroll adjustments
Handle expense reimbursements, bonuses, and other compensation-related items
Maintain compliance with payroll regulations across multiple states
Utilize Paylocity software to execute full-cycle payroll tasks
Oversee tracking and reporting of payroll-related data for organizational records
Ensure proper handling of employee benefits and deductions
Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries effectively
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless payroll operations
Monitor and implement updates to payroll policies as needed
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing
Proficiency in managing payroll for multi-state operations
Strong knowledge of Paylocity software or similar payroll systems
Experience handling payroll for over 500 employees
Familiarity with payroll compliance regulations and practices
Ability to manage deductions, garnishments, and 401(k) contributions
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective communication skills for resolving payroll-related issues
