Our company is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal controls. This role is critical for accurate, timely compensation delivery and maintaining high standards in payroll operations.
Job Responsibility:
Process multi-state payroll for employees in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
Maintain and update payroll records, verifying accuracy and resolving discrepancies
Manage employee data regarding new hires, terminations, transfers, and pay adjustments
Ensure timely submission of payroll tax filings and reporting
Reconcile payroll reports, benefits, and deductions
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, earning statements, and tax forms
Collaborate with HR and Accounting to ensure data alignment and compliance
Support audits by preparing payroll documentation and addressing auditor requests
Identify and recommend process improvements for payroll operations
Requirements:
Proven experience processing payroll in a high-volume, multi-state environment
Proficiency with payroll software (such as Workday, ADP, Oracle NetSuite, SAP, or QuickBooks)
Strong understanding of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance requirements
High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Advanced Excel skills
familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., PowerBI) desirable
