Job Description

A manufacturing company in Vista is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to oversee payroll processing and payroll compliance for a large employee workforce. This role will support payroll administration for hourly, salaried, and production employees while ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate has experience working in manufacturing or operational environments and understands the complexities of payroll processing for high-volume employee populations.

Job Responsibility

  • Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple departments
  • Audit timesheets, shift differentials, overtime, and payroll adjustments
  • Maintain payroll records and employee payroll changes accurately
  • Process garnishments, deductions, and payroll corrections
  • Assist with payroll reporting and payroll reconciliations
  • Support year-end payroll processing and reporting requirements
  • Ensure payroll compliance with labor laws and company policies
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Assist with audits and payroll documentation requests
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of payroll experience required
  • Strong understanding of payroll administration and payroll compliance
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate professionally with employees and leadership teams
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency required

Nice to have

  • Manufacturing or industrial industry experience preferred
  • Experience supporting large employee populations preferred
  • Experience with ADP, Ceridian Dayforce, UKG, or similar payroll systems preferred
  • CPP certification preferred
