We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Operations Specialist to provide high-level back-office support to a diverse temporary staffing client base. This role requires strong analytical thinking, technical proficiency, and exceptional attention to detail. In this position, you will support payroll processing, invoicing, billing, and payroll funding operations, while assisting clients with complex inquiries and ensuring the accuracy of financial data and reporting. Job Responsibility:
Verify and validate payroll and billing data, identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and ensure accurate processing
Respond to client inquiries related to payroll, billing, and funding processes in a timely and professional manner
Perform new customer setup and system data entry while maintaining accurate customer records
Maintain multiple interconnected customer databases and ensure data accuracy across payroll, billing, and funding systems
Update customer payroll and billing instructions on a weekly basis
Process credits, rebills, and financial adjustments as required
Provide training and technical support to clients on payroll and billing systems, including troubleshooting and system navigation
Advise clients on improving payroll and billing workflows and identifying opportunities for process optimization
Prepare and transmit accounting and payment reports, including wires, ACH transactions, and A/R credits/debits
Identify recurring issues or risks within processes, investigate root causes, and escalate with recommended solutions
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
Equivalent experience may be considered in place of a degree
Experience in payroll processing, accounting support, or billing operations preferred
Experience working with financial data including A/P, A/R, payroll tax, or reconciliations
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a high-volume email and call environment
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
Ability to interpret payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash posting data
Experience working with multiple databases and financial systems
Strong numerical skills and ability to reconcile discrepancies
Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new payroll and billing systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Meticulous attention to detail
The ability to manage high-volume financial workflows
Strong analytical thinking when resolving discrepancies
