Requirements

Proven experience managing a large payroll
Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory reporting
Experience with shift-based and variable pay structures
Familiarity with payroll software (IPP preferred)
Background in manufacturing or operational environments is a plus
Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organised
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Job Responsibility

Full end-to-end payroll processing across multiple entities
Calculating pay for hourly, shift-based, and salaried staff
Managing pensions, auto-enrolment, and statutory deductions
Liaising with HR and line managers to ensure accurate data
Handling employee queries with professionalism and care
Preparing reports for finance and management
Ensuring compliance with HMRC, GDPR, and audit requirements
Driving process improvements for greater efficiency

End-to-end Payroll experience
Experience using time and attendance systems
In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and pension administration

Job Responsibility

Manage monthly payroll processes and ensure accurate, timely payments for 150 employees
Handle tax deductions, report RTI for PAYE accounts, and process P11D's annually
Enrol employees into the pension scheme and manage monthly uploads
Liaise with payroll systems (Opera and Computime) and implement necessary upgrades
Set up monthly payroll and HMRC payments on the bank
Manage holiday entitlement and annual rollover on Computime
Ensure Computime time and attendance is fully utilized and weekly exceptions are processed
Complete agency timesheets within the required timeframe
Produce offer letters, contracts, and disciplinary letters for new employees
Support HR functions including right to work checks, probationary meetings, and disciplinary meetings
