Job Description:

Randstad is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a well-established organisation operating in the civil-construction sector. This is an ongoing full-time temporary assignment, with potential for extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate, efficient end-to-end payroll services for approximately 150 employees on a weekly basis.

Job Responsibility:

  • Process weekly payroll for approximately 150 employees across multiple awards and agreements
  • Ensure accurate interpretation and application of relevant awards and enterprise agreements
  • Liaise closely with the wider finance team and internal stakeholders to support seamless payroll operations
  • Act as the key point of escalation for complex payroll issues
  • Administer ad hoc payments and ensure timely statutory reporting, reconciliations, and compliance

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in high-volume payroll environments, ideally with exposure to shift work, overtime, and multiple industrial instruments
  • Strong understanding of award interpretation
  • Experience with relevant construction-related awards (e.g. Building and Construction or BEMS) is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in using various payroll systems
  • Experience with SAP is advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Comfortable managing challenging conversations and resolving payroll queries promptly and professionally
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
