Randstad is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a well-established organisation operating in the civil-construction sector. This is an ongoing full-time temporary assignment, with potential for extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate, efficient end-to-end payroll services for approximately 150 employees on a weekly basis.
Job Responsibility:
Process weekly payroll for approximately 150 employees across multiple awards and agreements
Ensure accurate interpretation and application of relevant awards and enterprise agreements
Liaise closely with the wider finance team and internal stakeholders to support seamless payroll operations
Act as the key point of escalation for complex payroll issues
Administer ad hoc payments and ensure timely statutory reporting, reconciliations, and compliance
Requirements:
Proven experience in high-volume payroll environments, ideally with exposure to shift work, overtime, and multiple industrial instruments
Strong understanding of award interpretation
Experience with relevant construction-related awards (e.g. Building and Construction or BEMS) is highly desirable
Proficiency in using various payroll systems
Experience with SAP is advantageous
Excellent attention to detail, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
Comfortable managing challenging conversations and resolving payroll queries promptly and professionally
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
