This is a critical leadership appointment for an individual who can navigate the complexities of large-scale projects and labour-hire dynamics while fostering a high-performance culture.
Job Responsibility:
Leading and mentoring a team of 2 direct reports, focusing on performance uplift and operational excellence
Managing complex payroll cycles for 600 headcount, ensuring 100% accuracy across multiple awards and enterprise agreements
Acting as the systems champion for the Astute payroll platform, identifying gaps and implementing best-practice workflows
Overseeing scheduling and allocation data flowing from Assigner and ensuring seamless integration with MYOB for financial reporting
Applying expert knowledge to accurately calculate complex final entitlements and settlement figures, ensuring strict associated regulatory and tax compliance
Managing and administering all payroll aspects related to complex employee transitions and life cycle changes within a fluid, ever-changing industrial landscape.
Requirements:
Proven experience managing payroll in similarly complex environments such as Construction, Industrial, or Labour Hire
Technical proficiency in Astute is highly desirable, alongside experience with MYOB and scheduling software
A hands-on leadership style with the ability to stabilise a team and drive accountability without being rigid
you must be approachable and collaborative
Deep expertise in Australian Award interpretation and a proactive approach to managing the ebbs and flows of a site-based industry
The ability to work on-site to establish control and lead from the front.
