We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee accurate and timely payroll operations for a large employee population in Jamestown, North Carolina. This onsite role is ideal for a detail-oriented leader who can balance day-to-day payroll execution with compliance oversight, reporting, and process enhancement. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to support payroll accuracy, confidentiality, and continuous operational improvement.
Job Responsibility
Oversee the complete payroll cycle for employees, ensuring earnings, deductions, and taxes are processed correctly and on schedule
Administer bi-monthly and biweekly payroll activities for a workforce of more than 500 employees while maintaining high standards of accuracy
Monitor payroll practices against federal, state, and local regulations to ensure adherence to tax, wage, and hour requirements
Maintain secure and accurate payroll records, including employee data, timekeeping details, withholdings, and related documentation
Prepare payroll reports for leadership and audit purposes, and highlight meaningful trends or issues that may affect operations
Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and other internal teams to coordinate benefit updates, compensation changes, and payroll-related reporting
Evaluate current payroll workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements that strengthen accuracy and overall efficiency
Support additional payroll and administrative duties as business needs require within this onsite position
Requirements
Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle payroll in a high-volume environment
Proven ability to process bi-monthly and biweekly payroll accurately and within established deadlines
Experience supporting payroll for organizations with more than 500 employees
Hands-on knowledge of Paycom and its payroll processing functions
Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and wage and hour compliance requirements
High level of attention to detail with the ability to safeguard confidential employee and payroll information
Effective collaboration and communication skills for working across HR, Finance, and leadership teams
