We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations and ensure accurate and timely processing for a large workforce. This contract position is based in Golden Valley, Minnesota, and offers an excellent opportunity to lead a team and maintain compliance with payroll regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and expertise in full-cycle payroll management.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and supervise the payroll department, including two Payroll Supervisors and nine Payroll Specialists
Oversee and ensure the timely processing of payroll for a workforce of 2,500-3,000 employees on a bi-monthly schedule
Monitor department workload and provide necessary tools and resources for team success
Maintain the integrity and functionality of payroll systems, including Great Plains and Cashe
Address and resolve consumer complaints related to payroll services
Continuously improve internal payroll processes and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness
Ensure compliance with state and county licensing requirements and payroll regulations
Prepare and analyze payroll reports to maintain accuracy and transparency
Provide guidance and support in resolving payroll-related issues and inquiries
Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including supervisory roles
Proven expertise in full-cycle payroll and multi-state payroll management
Ability to handle payroll operations for over 500 employees with precision
Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains Accounting software
Strong decision-making skills and ability to work independently when required
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with staff, participants, and external stakeholders
All candidates are required to undergo Department of Human Services and Motor Vehicle background checks, and must have an acceptable driving record
