Job Description:

New Payroll Manager opportunity leading a payroll team of 4 sitting within the P&C division reporting into the HR Director. Strategic role with focus on leadership, governance, compliance, process improvements, and system updates. Payroll consists of 2,500 staff and is processed weekly, fortnightly, and monthly using iChris, Chris21, and Employment Hero systems.

Job Responsibility:

oversee the payroll function and ensure an accurate and timely payroll process for all employees
lead, coach and mentor the payroll team driving a collaborative and high-performing work environment
ensure compliance with a range of different industry awards
ensure PAYG withholding, superannuation contributions, payroll tax returns, worker comp, etc.
ensure all systems are up to date and are effectively utilized
develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency
resolve complex payroll issues
collaborate with different divisions and stakeholders across the organization including finance, HR, IT, etc.
drive payroll projects and system transformation projects working collaborating with senior members of the team

Requirements:

5+ years working as a payroll manager with experience running a payroll team
knowledge of shift work related awards would be highly regarded
experience with Micropay and UKG is a benefit but not essential
experience working on payroll/system projects and updates
excellent attention to detail and time management skills
ability to work in a fast paced environment and engage with a range of stakeholders

Nice to have:
