This is a high-impact, highly visible position supporting a long-standing, people-first organization in the Quad Cities. You’ll own the weekly payroll process for 100–200 employees and be the welcoming presence at the front of the office. No two days look the same—but you’ll always leave knowing your work mattered.
Job Responsibility:
Process weekly, multi-state payroll (IA & IL) with accuracy and consistency
Review & troubleshoot timecards
Ensure compliance with payroll regulations
Administer deductions, garnishments, benefits, and tax updates
Serve as the go-to resource for payroll questions
Coordinate onboarding/offboarding
Maintain employee records (including DOT-compliant files)
Assist with benefits administration & open enrollment
Support recruiting logistics
Respond to unemployment & workers’ comp inquiries
Be the friendly face at the front desk
Assist with office organization, supplies, and vendor coordination
Support leadership with admin tasks
Jump in wherever needed—small team, big teamwork
Coding invoices
Reviewing daily cash/credit transactions
Assisting with monthly reconciliation
Helping prepare for audits
Requirements:
Payroll experience (3 years is ideal, or equivalent education with potential and drive!)
Basic understanding of HR processes
Strong attention to detail & follow-through
Comfort speaking with employees in person and over the phone
Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (Paylocity experience is a plus!)
