Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Director with strong knowledge of UKG Ready and Payroll to lead and mentor a team of three managers. This role requires a solution-oriented leader who can navigate complex payroll environments, drive operational excellence, and contribute to our unique GreenLeaf culture.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3 payroll/implementation managers
  • Oversee all payroll operations and ensure accurate, compliant processing across all 50 states
  • Provide strategic guidance on UKG Ready implementation and optimization
  • Act as a problem solver and solution provider, able to manage challenges and setbacks effectively
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to streamline payroll processes and address complex issues
  • Maintain and foster the GreenLeaf culture: encourage open communication, teamwork, and constructive feedback
  • Support both internal and client-facing payroll initiatives (approx. 50/50 split)
  • Contribute to employee growth, development, and retention initiatives within the payroll team

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in payroll management, preferably in multi-state or niche industry environments
  • Strong expertise in UKG Ready
  • Proven leadership and mentoring experience
  • ability to manage and develop managers
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex challenges
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Alignment with GreenLeaf culture: team player, solution-oriented, open to feedback, and collaborative across departments
