Job Description

The city of Springfield seeks qualified candidates for the position of Payroll Director. This position manages the payroll process for the Springfield Public Schools and the city of Springfield. Responsible for providing external reporting to state and federal authorities for employees’ gross wages and benefits. Works closely with human resources. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field required. Minimum of five years’ experience in complex and demanding payroll, accounting, finance, or related environment required. At least two years of experience in a supervisory capacity required.
