Under general supervision of the of Human Resources Manager this position supervises all activities necessary to process payroll; drafts applicable policies and recommends policy changes for areas of responsibility; conducts audits and ensures compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations; produces applicable reports; program management for Banner system for payroll and human resource modules; conducts training; special projects as assigned.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business, or a related field
Two (2) years of progressively more responsible professional-level payroll and employee compensation-related experience
Demonstrated ability to manage a busy payroll office
Must have experience with pension and retirement accounts
Must have a working knowledge of governmental regulations affecting payroll and retirement plans
Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Demonstrated ability to use online systems for payroll, remittance, and associated activities
Must have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Must have Payroll system experience
Demonstrated ability to gather, organize, and analyze various data sets
Must have working knowledge and experience with various laws and regulations, such as FLSA
Nice to have:
An understanding of project management methodologies
experience with Banner and Banner payroll
a working understanding of a variety of human resource functions
knowledge of unemployment compensation, and workers’ compensation
