We are looking for a highly skilled Payroll Consultant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Hamel, Minnesota. This role involves managing payroll operations for a diverse workforce while also driving improvements in payroll processes and compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both hands-on payroll management and strategic project work, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
Job Responsibility:
Process biweekly payroll for approximately 1,400 employees, including exempt managers, hourly staff, and field-based workers
Manage payroll under government contracts, ensuring compliance with Davis-Bacon and prevailing wage laws
Perform manual prevailing wage calculations and train others on the process
Resolve compliance issues related to prevailing wage laws and support the transition to weekly payroll for improved adherence to regulations
Lead payroll-related projects aimed at automating and streamlining processes
Collaborate on initiatives to integrate global payroll operations into the Dayforce system
Provide expertise in payroll laws and regulations, including Davis-Bacon requirements
Train and support future payroll staff while improving compliance and operational efficiency
Ensure all employees are paid accurately, on time, and with minimal errors
Utilize tools like Dayforce and Microsoft Excel to manage payroll operations effectively
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in full-cycle payroll management
Proficiency in handling multi-state payroll operations for large employee populations
Expertise in payroll systems, particularly Dayforce
Strong knowledge of Davis-Bacon Act and prevailing wage compliance
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for payroll-related tasks
Familiarity with payroll for over 500 employees, including exempt and hourly staff
Ability to manage complex payroll processes and implement strategic improvements
Experience working under government contracts and adhering to strict compliance standards
