Job Description

Payroll Compliance Analyst role at Deel, the all-in-one payroll and HR platform for global teams. The role involves collaborating with Product Specialists to translate Swiss payroll compliance requirements into technical specifications, educating the Product team on legislation, and ensuring ongoing compliance.

Job Responsibility

  • Collaborates with Product Specialists to understand country-specific payroll compliance requirements and translate them into technical specifications for development of the country’s payroll engine
  • Educate Product team on legislation, ensure the correct implementation of technical specifications by the Development team through testing
  • Develop and maintain legislative specifications for reports and integrations and ensure new in-country requirements are addressed in product for ongoing compliance
  • Ensures continuous upskilling and compliance awareness of Product team by collaborating on new in-country requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • 4+ years of payroll experience in Switzerland and advanced knowledge of local payroll
  • Strong working knowledge of local regulations and policies related to payroll and HR
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines timely and accurately
  • Familiarity with Swissdec-certified solutions will be considered a strong advantage
  • Experience in multiple country jurisdictions is an advantage but not essential
  • Experience supporting the design, build and implementation of a multi-region Payroll Solution is an advantage
  • Strong verbal and written skills to connect with clients and align with various stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills, explaining complex issues at an understandable level
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
  • Strong proficiency in English

  • Full-cycle processing of semi-monthly US payroll for 1000+ employees working in over 38 states while incorporating payroll data from multiple internal departments and external benefit providers. This includes maintaining supporting documentation and authorization for all changes
  • Responsible for creating reconciliation reports at month end, fiscal year end, and at the calendar year end for 401k, benefits, and Equity awards
  • May be responsible for preparing and keying multiple journal entries, weekly, monthly and as necessary for payroll related items
  • Assist with payroll compliance matters such as multi-state/multi-jurisdiction tax withholding, garnishments and key annual audits (e.g. 401 (k), workers compensations, external financial audit)
  • Research and advise payroll staff concerning the accounting treatment of complex transactions
