We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support accurate and timely payroll operations for a growing team in Blacklick, Ohio. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing end-to-end payroll activities, maintaining employee payroll records, and helping ensure compliance with tax and benefit requirements. The right candidate will bring strong organizational skills, multistate payroll knowledge, and the ability to work carefully with sensitive compensation data.
Job Responsibility:
Process regular payroll accurately and on schedule for a workforce of approximately 101 to 500 employees
Manage full-cycle payroll activities, including time review, earnings calculations, deductions, and final validation before submission
Maintain payroll records for new hires, status changes, and other employee updates to ensure information remains current and correct
Administer payroll-related deductions such as garnishments, tax withholdings, retirement contributions, and workers’ compensation items
Support multistate payroll processing by applying appropriate wage and tax rules across jurisdictions
Prepare payroll reports and summaries for internal tracking, reconciliation, and audit support
Review payroll data for discrepancies, resolve issues promptly, and respond to payroll-related questions from employees or management
Assist with compliance-related tasks connected to payroll taxes, benefit deductions, and other required filings
Requirements:
At least 2 years of payroll experience in an office environment with strong attention to detail
Hands-on experience processing full-cycle payroll with accuracy and strong attention to detail
Ability to manage payroll for an employee population ranging from 101 to 500 employees
Working knowledge of multistate payroll practices, payroll tax requirements, and garnishment processing
Familiarity with employee onboarding updates that affect payroll setup and maintenance
Proficiency in preparing payroll reports and reconciling payroll-related data
Strong organizational, communication, and confidentiality skills when handling sensitive employee information
