Seeking a Payroll Clerk to work PART TIME Wednesdays - Fridays, with Friday being remote, supporting a client-based Ann Arbor MI in the Hospitality industry. This position is based in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. All candidates will be required to take a typing test. Must be able to work 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Job Responsibility:
Enter and assist with processing multi-state payroll accurately and on time for a large employee base
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and withholding requirements
Collaborate with the payroll team to address and resolve payroll discrepancies
Maintain detailed and organized payroll records for auditing and reporting purposes
Utilize Excel to analyze payroll data, including working with Pivot Tables
Support multi-state payroll operations as needed
Provide assistance with employee inquiries related to payroll and deductions
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency
Verify payroll calculations and ensure proper application of policies
Assist with year-end reporting and other payroll-related tasks
Requirements:
2+ years of payroll experience
Excellent knowledge of withholdings and taxes
Excellent phone communication skills
Solid written communication skills
Must have a strong customer service focus
Attention to detail
Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll management
Proficiency in handling payroll for over 500 employees
Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and withholdings
Advanced Excel skills, including familiarity with Pivot Tables
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills for addressing payroll-related inquiries
