Robert Half Contract Finance and Accounting is looking for a meticulous and organized Payroll Clerk for a temporary/contract job opportunity for our client in Verdi. In this role, you will handle payroll processes for both hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations. Job Responsibility:
Process biweekly payroll for approximately 50 employees using NetSuite
Manage payroll-related tasks such as garnishments, 401k contributions, and bonus payments
Ensure accurate manual entries and adjustments to payroll records as needed
Handle payroll for both hourly and salaried staff, ensuring compliance with relevant tax and labor laws
Maintain accurate records of payroll taxes and ensure timely payments
Collaborate with the timekeeper to verify employee hours and address discrepancies
Assist with payroll reporting and documentation for auditing purposes
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a thorough and timely manner
Ensure confidentiality and security of employee payroll information
Requirements:
Proven experience in payroll processing, including full-cycle payroll
Proficiency with NetSuite or similar payroll software
Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, garnishments, and local payroll regulations
Ability to manage biweekly payroll for both salaried and hourly employees
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data
Familiarity with 401k payments and bonus processing
Effective communication skills to address payroll-related inquiries
Capacity to work independently in a quiet, focused environment
