We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join an accountancy team in a contract-to-permanent role. This position is ideal for someone who can manage payroll activities with accuracy, stay organized in a fast-paced environment, and build confidence with tax-related processes over time. The successful candidate will support payroll operations, reporting, and employee-related payroll research while using tools such as QuickBooks and Excel to keep work moving efficiently.
Job Responsibility
Process full-cycle payroll for a workforce of approximately 101 to 500 employees while maintaining accuracy and timeliness
Prepare payroll reports and assist with routine filings, including work related to Forms 941 and 942
Review and handle payroll garnishments, deductions, and related recordkeeping in accordance with established guidelines
Research payroll questions and prepare follow-up correspondence to help resolve outstanding issues
Use QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to enter, track, reconcile, and organize payroll information
Support ongoing payroll administration tasks by identifying discrepancies and helping correct them promptly
Maintain organized payroll documentation and ensure information is updated for reporting and audit readiness
Requirements
Prior experience processing payroll, including full-cycle payroll responsibilities
Working knowledge of payroll reporting and familiarity with Forms 941 and 942
Experience handling payroll garnishments and related adjustments
Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
Ability to manage a steady workload with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Willingness to learn additional tax-related duties through training
Strong organizational skills and the ability to research and follow up on payroll matters effectively
