We are looking for a skilled Payroll Clerk to join our team in Lexington, Kentucky. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees, while addressing discrepancies and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. Job Responsibility:
Process payroll accurately and on schedule for employees, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements
Monitor budgets and establish employee pay rates to align with organizational financial goals
Identify and resolve discrepancies between payroll records and billing data to maintain accuracy
Collaborate with administrative staff, support brokers, and the controller to address payroll-related issues and optimize processes
Prepare and generate reports, correspondence, and documentation related to payroll activities
Analyze payroll data to identify trends, resolve issues, and improve operational efficiency
Utilize software tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to manage payroll data and create reports
Ensure proper handling of garnishments, deductions, and other payroll adjustments as required
Maintain accurate records and ensure all payroll-related documentation is up to date
Address employee inquiries about payroll matters and provide timely resolutions
Requirements:
Proven experience in processing payroll for organizations with 101-500 employees
Strong knowledge of full-cycle payroll processes, including garnishments and deductions
Proficiency in using payroll software and Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to perform mathematical calculations, such as computing rates, ratios, and percentages, with accuracy
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address payroll discrepancies and improve processes
Strong communication skills to write reports, correspond professionally, and effectively present information
Ability to interpret instructions and solve practical problems in a variety of formats
Familiarity with operating computers and other office equipment for payroll-related tasks
