Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Clerk to join our team in Denver, Colorado. In this role, you will oversee the accurate preparation and processing of payroll while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position requires a high level of discretion, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and manage bi-weekly payroll for multiple states, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Review and verify timesheets for discrepancies and resolve any errors promptly
  • Update and maintain payroll and accounting systems with approved changes
  • Process off-cycle payrolls, including final pay, bonuses, and adjustments
  • Handle wage garnishments and ensure compliance with applicable laws
  • Reconcile open enrollment and monthly employee benefits invoices
  • Enter employee expense reimbursements for payment and process paper checks as needed
  • Prepare and reconcile tax documents and reports, including W-2 forms
  • Maintain accurate records of vacation and sick leave accruals
  • Support Human Resources and Accounting departments with special projects or additional tasks as required

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in end-to-end payroll processing
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, garnishments, and benefits distribution
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with payroll software such as Paylocity or Deltek is a plus
  • CPP certification or equivalent is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational abilities with keen attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal skills

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with payroll software such as Paylocity or Deltek is a plus
  • CPP certification or equivalent is preferred
