Our client, a respected leader in the nonprofit community, is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join their accounting team. In this pivotal role, you will help ensure the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processes that support the organization’s mission-driven staff and operations.
Job Responsibility:
Process biweekly or semi-monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Verify timekeeping records, resolve discrepancies, and communicate with staff regarding payroll-related inquiries
Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation in line with accounting best practices and nonprofit guidelines
Assist with the processing of new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status
Support the finance team with payroll-related reporting and assist during audits
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all payroll, personnel, and organizational matters
Use payroll and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Microsoft D365, or similar platforms
Requirements:
1+ years of payroll or accounting experience
nonprofit sector experience strongly preferred
Working knowledge of payroll best practices, timekeeping systems, and basic accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll/accounting software (QuickBooks, Microsoft D365, etc.)
High degree of attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality
Strong communication and customer service skills
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
