We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support payroll operations for an organization in the energy and natural resources sector in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable handling clerical and HR system-related tasks with accuracy. The role will contribute to timely payroll processing, maintain employee records, and help ensure day-to-day administrative activities run smoothly.
Job Responsibility:
Process payroll-related transactions accurately and on schedule while verifying supporting information for completeness
Maintain employee payroll records and update data within HR systems to reflect changes in status, pay, or deductions
Perform clerical support tasks such as organizing documentation, entering information, and preparing payroll files for review
Review payroll details to identify discrepancies, research issues, and assist with correcting errors in a timely manner
Coordinate with internal teams to gather required information and ensure payroll activities align with company procedures
Support routine operational workflows by tracking deadlines, maintaining documentation, and responding to payroll-related inquiries
Assist with record retention and ensure payroll documents are filed and stored in an orderly and confidential manner
Requirements:
Experience supporting payroll, clerical, or administrative functions in a detail-focused environment
Working knowledge of HR systems and the ability to enter, update, and manage employee information accurately
Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle payroll data and documentation carefully
Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage recurring tasks within established timelines
Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with employees and internal departments
Proficiency with general office and operational processes, including data entry and document management
