We are looking for a Payroll Clerk to support accurate and timely payroll operations for a workforce of approximately 101 to 500 employees. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is highly organized and experienced in end-to-end payroll processing. The role will focus on maintaining payroll accuracy, addressing employee pay matters, and ensuring compliance with garnishment and payroll procedures.
Job Responsibility
Process full-cycle payroll for a mid-sized employee population, ensuring wages are calculated and issued accurately and on schedule
Review payroll data for completeness and accuracy, including hours worked, deductions, benefits, and other earnings adjustments
Administer payroll garnishments and related deductions in accordance with applicable orders, policies, and regulations
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies by working with employees and internal partners to correct issues promptly
Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation in an organized manner to support audits and reporting needs
Assist with payroll-related inquiries, providing clear and attentive support to employees, including staff who speak Spanish when needed
Help ensure payroll activities align with company procedures as well as federal, state, and local payroll requirements
Requirements
Prior experience in payroll processing, including full-cycle payroll responsibilities
Ability to manage payroll for an employee population ranging from 101 to 500 employees
Working knowledge of payroll garnishments and related deductions
Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly
Experience reviewing payroll information for accuracy and resolving discrepancies efficiently
Effective communication skills in English
Proficiency with payroll systems and general administrative or data-entry tasks related to payroll operations
Nice to have
Spanish language ability is preferred or highly valued
