We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support payroll and administrative operations in Columbus, Ohio. This contract position is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing biweekly payroll for a mid-sized employee population while also helping with scheduling and invoice entry. The role requires strong organizational skills, confidence with payroll systems such as Paychex, and the ability to stay ahead of staffing needs in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility
Process biweekly payroll accurately for a workforce of up to 110 hourly and salaried employees using Paychex
Review and correct timekeeping records, including entering missed punches to ensure payroll data is complete and accurate
Maintain payroll-related records and verify information to support timely and compliant pay processing
Coordinate nurse department scheduling and proactively monitor coverage needs several days in advance
Enter invoices accurately and assist with routine administrative office tasks as needed
Communicate with employees and internal teams to resolve payroll discrepancies, scheduling questions, and documentation issues
Requirements
Experience handling payroll for an employee population within the 101 to 500 range
Working knowledge of full-cycle payroll processing, including time entry review and payroll adjustments
Proficiency with Paychex payroll systems or similar payroll software
Ability to manage both hourly and salaried payroll accurately and efficiently
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple administrative tasks
Comfortable supporting staff scheduling and maintaining accurate invoice entry
Solid technical skills and confidence using office and payroll systems
