Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Clerk to join a team in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this role, you will play a key part in managing payroll operations, ensuring precision and compliance in processing payments for a large organization. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on organization, enjoys collaborating across departments, and has a strong understanding of payroll systems.

Job Responsibility:

  • Process payroll for a large workforce with accuracy and timeliness, adhering to established schedules
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and guidelines
  • Prepare and manage payroll reports, reconciliations, and documentation to maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to address payroll adjustments and resolve discrepancies
  • Utilize payroll systems, such as Kronos, to streamline processes and address system-related issues
  • Handle garnishments, deductions, and other payroll components with attention to detail
  • Monitor bi-weekly payroll cycles to ensure smooth processing and timely payments
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to enhance payroll operations and efficiency
  • Provide support in auditing payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll management, preferably in large organizations
  • Proficiency in in-house payroll processing and handling complex payroll structures
  • Familiarity with payroll systems such as Kronos is highly preferred
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements at federal, state, and local levels
  • Experience in managing garnishments, deductions, and other payroll-related elements
  • Associate degree or equivalent qualifications through relevant experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments
