Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join a reputable wholesale distribution company in Rancho Cordova, California. In this long-term contract position, you will handle a range of payroll-related tasks, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality while supporting employees and management. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team and further develop your payroll expertise.

Job Responsibility:

  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, providing clear and accurate information
  • Collaborate with payroll representatives across locations to confirm timely and correct entry, approval, and submission of timesheets before processing
  • Distribute weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly paychecks and direct deposit statements to designated locations
  • Process garnishments efficiently and ensure compliance with organizational requests
  • Enter data for new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, promotions, and position changes into the payroll system
  • Update non-action data such as employee addresses, tax allowances, and direct deposit information
  • Handle employment verification requests by providing accurate documentation
  • Protect sensitive information by maintaining strict confidentiality in all payroll operations
  • Generate various payroll-related reports including census, safety, and workers’ compensation wage reports to support management needs

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing
  • Proficiency in handling payroll for employee groups ranging from 101 to 500 individuals
  • Knowledge and experience in processing payroll garnishments
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy in payroll entries and reports
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and software
  • Excellent communication skills to address employee inquiries and collaborate with team members
  • Ability to work onsite in Rancho Cordova, California
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive payroll data
