Job Description:

We are looking for a meticulous Payroll Clerk to join our team in Collierville, Tennessee. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in managing payroll processes for both employees and contractors within the construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills and a passion for ensuring accuracy in payroll operations.

Job Responsibility:

Process and maintain payroll records for employees and contractors, ensuring data accuracy and compliance
Set up new employees and contractors in the payroll system, verifying all information is complete and correct
Review and resolve any discrepancies in timecard approvals before payroll submission
Coordinate with the external payroll service provider to ensure timely payments
Handle administrative tasks related to employee and contractor paperwork, including workers’ compensation claims
Maintain up-to-date payroll documentation and records in accordance with company policies
Support general HR administrative duties, including recordkeeping and compliance updates
Assist in addressing payroll-related inquiries from employees and contractors

Requirements:

Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably within the construction or contractor industry
Familiarity with HR administrative tasks and recordkeeping
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in using payroll systems and software
Knowledge of workers’ compensation procedures and payroll compliance regulations
Effective communication skills for coordinating with both internal teams and external service providers
