Robert Half is currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Clerk to join our client's team in Knoxville, Tennessee. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll operations efficiently and accurately, ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, handling complex payroll processes for a large workforce.

Job Responsibility:

  • Administer full-cycle payroll processes for a workforce of over 500 employees to ensure timely and accurate payments
  • Handle multi-state payroll operations, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Process bi-weekly payroll, including adjustments and reconciliations to maintain accuracy
  • Manage garnishments, deductions, and incentive bonuses in accordance with applicable laws and company policies
  • Utilize Workforce Management (WFM) systems and Lawson software to streamline payroll operations
  • Oversee COBRA administration, ensuring compliance with health insurance continuation guidelines
  • Collaborate with internal departments to address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain detailed payroll records and generate reports to support audits and internal reviews
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures while implementing payroll best practices

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience, including full-cycle payroll and multi-state operations
  • Proficiency in processing payroll for large organizations with over 500 employees
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, including garnishments and COBRA administration
  • Expertise in bi-weekly payroll processing and reconciliation
  • Familiarity with Workforce Management (WFM) systems and Lawson software
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage complex payroll tasks
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and address payroll-related concerns
