We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Merritt Island, Florida. This role will involve managing various payroll processes to ensure compliance and accuracy in employee compensation. The position begins with standard hours for 1-2 weeks, transitioning to part-time hours (20-30 hours per week) thereafter.
Job Responsibility:
Handle full-cycle payroll processing for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Manage payroll for unionized employees, adhering to specific regulations and agreements
Process garnishments and other deductions in compliance with applicable laws
Utilize ADP systems to input and manage payroll data efficiently
Verify employee hours and ensure accurate compensation calculations
Ensure compliance with I-9 requirements and other employment documentation
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and inquiries
Maintain records and generate reports related to payroll activities
Support part-time and standard payroll operations as required
Uphold confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive payroll information
Requirements:
Proven experience in payroll processing, including full-cycle payroll
Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP
Knowledge of payroll regulations, including union-specific requirements and garnishments
Strong understanding of I-9 compliance and employment documentation
Ability to handle payroll for organizations with 101-500 employees
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective communication skills for addressing payroll queries and discrepancies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar tools for recordkeeping and reporting
