Our team is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Clerk for a long-term contract opportunity in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In this role, you will support the payroll department in processing payroll and related transactions for a dynamic organization. Job Responsibility:
Accurately input and review employee timecards and payroll data
Process weekly and biweekly payroll cycles in compliance with company policies and local/state regulations
Verify timesheet approvals, resolve discrepancies, and ensure all adjustments are recorded
Maintain and update payroll records, employee information, and tax withholdings
Assist with responding to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management
Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits as assigned
Help with organizing payroll documentation and filing systems
Support other accounting or finance projects as required
Requirements:
Previous experience or coursework in payroll, accounting, or a similar administrative role preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to learn payroll/timekeeping software
Excellent communication skills and ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
Strong organizational and time management skills to meet regular deadlines
