Payroll Associate

• Data entry for payrolls, adjustments, deductions, family support, and garnishments
• Processing semi-monthly payroll for over 7000 employees
• Issuing Records of Employment
• Entering termination payments, ensuring accurate calculations
• Responding to payroll tickets via the ticketing application
• Conducting bank recalls, traces, and pay replacements
• Reviewing daily mail and faxes
• Preparing journal entries, analyzing transactions, and reconciling accounts
• Making timely remittances/payments to third parties
• Investigating and correcting payroll errors or warnings
• Acting as a backup for payroll team members
• Performing other duties and special projects as assigned.

• Knowledge of accounting, payroll procedures, provincial payroll regulations, and Employment Standards Act (Canada)
• Interest in digital upskilling and tech trends
• Experience with computerized payroll systems, preferably Workday
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Payroll software, and adaptability to new tools
• Understanding of payroll processes in large organizations
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities under pressure
• Excellent analytical skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence
• Customer service focus with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
