The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing Enavate’s payroll processing and Team Member benefits programs (health insurance, health savings plans, 401(k) plans, and leave of absence programs). This role is vital for maintaining Team Member morale and requires close collaboration between HR and Finance to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with payroll, benefits and 401(k) regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical and capable of optimizing payroll operations to align with company goals while providing excellent customer service to Team Members.
Job Responsibility:
Manage end-to-end US and Canada payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely tax filings
Maintain payroll and HRIS data integrity, run payroll reports, and reconcile accounts
Address payroll and benefits inquiries, providing clear guidance to Team Members
Partner with Finance, HRC, and auditors to validate payroll data and support audits
Administer health, wellness, retirement, and leave programs, ensuring accurate enrollment and billing
Stay up to date on industry trends, legislative changes, and best practices to enhance payroll and benefits administration
Manage vendor relationships and support annual benefits renewals and open enrollment
Keep up with legislative changes and industry trends to maintain compliance and competitiveness
Improve payroll and benefits processes, policies, and documentation
Maintain and ensure accuracy of all Team Member benefits, including billing, change reporting, enrollment, and review of Medical, Dental, 401(k) and Life
Support compensation analysis and other HR-related initiatives and ad‑hoc projects
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
5+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration
Strong knowledge of payroll systems, benefits administration, labor laws, employer benefit plans and compensation programs
Proficient in one of the payroll software (e.g., Rippling, ADP, Workday, Paylocity) and HRIS platforms
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly
Able to work in a fast paced and changing environment
