We are looking for a skilled Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our client in New Bedford, Massachusetts. This role is essential in ensuring accurate payroll processing and seamless benefits administration for employees across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will bring a detail-oriented approach and a commitment to compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Job Responsibility:
Process payroll cycles, including weekly, biweekly, and semi-monthly schedules, for both hourly and salaried employees
Manage employee data updates such as new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, transfers, garnishments, and other HR-related modifications
Maintain and audit payroll records, ensuring accuracy in general ledger entries, benefit deductions, tax withholdings, and reconciliations
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or human resources is strongly preferred
Payroll experience in the Manufacturing industry is required
Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing for organizations with 100-500 employees
Familiarity with multi-state payroll operations and compliance requirements
Proficiency in using payroll software, with experience in UKG Pro being highly preferred
Strong knowledge of benefits administration and related processes
Excellent attention to detail and ability to audit payroll records for accuracy
Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
Ability to collaborate effectively with HR and finance teams
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities
