The city of Fitchburg is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the position of Payroll & Benefits Manager. Under the direction of the City Treasurer/Tax Collector, this position requires the management of all payroll and benefits functions of the City. The Payroll and Benefits Manager performs duties of a complex nature exercising independent judgment in accordance with all state and federal laws and city ordinances. The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in business, human resources or related field with three or more years of benefits/payroll administration experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. In addition, candidate must have prior payroll and benefit experience, with Enterprise ERP (MUNIS) experience preferred, and must have knowledge of laws, policies and procedures governing payroll and benefits administration. The salary range for this union position is $62,088 – $105,300.
