We are looking for a skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina. This Contract-to-Permanent position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in payroll processes and accounting functions. The role involves ensuring accurate payroll preparation, compliance, and providing exceptional support to employees while collaborating with HR and finance departments.
Job Responsibility:
Process bi-weekly payroll transactions, including timesheets, deductions, and benefits
Maintain and update payroll records, generating accurate reports for management review
Collaborate with HR and finance teams to address payroll adjustments and ensure data accuracy
Handle electronic payments and payroll distribution in a timely manner
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Set up payroll for new employees, verifying accurate pay data entry into systems
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve discrepancies promptly
Prepare payroll journal entries and monthly reimbursement reports with precision
Reconcile general ledger accounts related to payroll to maintain financial accuracy
Administer and monitor the expense reimbursement process, ensuring adherence to company policies
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and accounting support roles
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field
Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Paychex, Workday, or similar platforms
Strong understanding of payroll laws and industry best practices
Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools
Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
Strong organizational and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
