We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our team on a contract basis in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role involves managing payroll operations and benefits administration for a multi-state workforce of approximately 50 employees. Job Responsibility:
Process multi‑state payroll accurately and on schedule using Paylocity
Manage payroll deductions, benefit integrations, garnishments, and tax adjustments
Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Troubleshoot payroll issues, resolve discrepancies, and support employee payroll questions
Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity across systems
Partner with HR/benefits teams for smooth coordination, without taking on higher‑level HR duties
Step into an active environment quickly and take ownership of day‑to‑day payroll operations
Requirements:
Proven experience in payroll processing and benefits administration, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role
Hands-on expertise with Paylocity software is required
Familiarity with managing payroll across multiple states and understanding associated compliance regulations
Strong knowledge of payroll deductions, benefit integrations, and tax compliance
Ability to work independently and take ownership of payroll tasks in a dynamic environment
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with vendors and employees
Proficiency in handling payroll for small to medium-sized employee groups (50-500 employees)
