Manage end-to-end processing of bi-weekly payroll for a workforce of more than 500 employees across multiple states, verifying earnings, deductions, and overall accuracy
Partner with accounting, human resources, and other internal teams to maintain reliable employee data and support smooth payroll administration
Oversee job title and job code administration in collaboration with HR leadership to promote consistent position classification throughout the organization
Establish and maintain state and local tax accounts while ensuring payroll tax practices meet applicable federal, state, city, and local requirements
Monitor changes in payroll legislation and apply updates to processes to maintain ongoing compliance with tax, reporting, and insurance obligations
Reconcile payroll tax activity, review filings for accuracy, and ensure payroll tax payments are submitted within required deadlines
Produce payroll-related reports for leadership, including workforce metrics such as headcount, overtime, and labor hour summaries
Prepare payroll journal entries for the accounting system and support accurate posting of payroll-related financial transactions
Review benefit deductions, vendor billings, retirement contribution activity, and commission calculations to confirm accuracy and proper reporting
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle payroll, including multi-state payroll administration for large employee populations
Working knowledge of federal and state payroll laws and regulations
Proficiency with payroll systems, including ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll software
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with complex spreadsheets and pivot tables
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies, solve problems, and make sound judgments
Ability to handle sensitive employee and payroll information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
