We are looking for a skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team on a part time contract basis in Benicia, California. This position involves managing payroll processes, reviewing deductions, and generating detailed reports using Workday. The role requires a part-time commitment, working three days a week, with Mondays and Tuesdays being mandatory.
Job Responsibility:
Audit payroll processes to identify and correct errors, including inaccurate deductions
Generate and analyze payroll reports in Workday, including month-end and year-end summaries
Provide hands-on training and guidance to payroll specialists to improve system proficiency
Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll regulations and company policies
Collaborate with the Controller to address payroll-related inquiries and implement improvements
Manage payroll operations for approximately 200 employees, the majority of whom are exempt
Utilize Workday to execute full-cycle payroll tasks efficiently
Support remote work setup by coordinating technology needs, such as laptops
Monitor payroll workflows to ensure timely and accurate processing
Assist with additional payroll-related projects as needed
Requirements:
Proven experience in full-cycle payroll management
Proficiency in Workday payroll systems
Knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and compliance
Experience managing payroll for medium-sized organizations (100-500 employees)
Strong analytical skills for reviewing deductions and generating reports
Ability to train and mentor team members on payroll systems and processes
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with leadership and team members
Availability to work part-time, including mandatory Mondays and Tuesdays
